The French National Committee for UNICEF and several reporters visited us to learn about the situation in Congo and how we were using their resources to benefit children. The visit was led by the committee’s president, the highly committed Jacques Hintzy.
We visited an excellent project in Kpandroma to reintegrate children who had been caught up in the fighting between FNI and UPC. At and around the centre we met with children who were being assisted and who had successfully reintegrated. The children are provided with medical, psychosocial, educational and economic . As we left the centre a group of girls sung of the suffering they had been through whilst the other boys and girls danced around them.
We also visited Zengo, a group of villages that had been attacked by both UPC and FNI. In Zengo we will shortly start a project to help the returning population to rebuild their health and education services.

was undertaken to visit a camp housing almost 3,000 refugees from Darfur, Sudan,
as well assessing the security situation in the region.
