And like the building of monolith skyscrapers that dot the city landscape, the first step in realizing that vision is putting your ideas on paper... as blueprints. This concept resonates strong in Mirage International Film Festival’s Original Screenwriting competition Film Blueprint.
We believe that all great films started as great scripts! Film Blueprint seeks to discover the next generation of great writers and provide a forum to highlight and recognize their scripts. Corona Fastnet Short Film Festival 2013 6j3v5e
Windows all over town decorated by the amazing animator David Quinn. Hopefull he will do it again this year for us. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IZC7i4seaEo
Corona Fastnet Short Film Festival 636y4t
The Corona Fastnet Short Film Festival now in its sixth year takes place annually over the last weekend in May. It is an 'up close and personal' festival. Filmmakers, directors, producers and invited guest speakers, all share the same space. Schull doesn’t have a Cinema, so we invite attendees to explore alternatives. Screenings, Q&As, Premieres, Workshops and Discussions are held in all sorts of weird and wonderful locations, throughout the village of Schull. “Distributed Cinema” is Schull’s very own dedicated server for short films. Anyone with a smartphone, laptop or tablet can access the submitted films through Wi-Fi, anywhere on Main Street during the festival. You can watch any of the past 5 years winning films, archived workshops and interviews 24 hours a day 365 days a year here in Schull.
Our server is also used alongside HD media players, to screen films in a number of smaller venues throughout the locality. From a bookshop or an Art Gallery to Marquees, pubs and restaurants, The Long Island Cinema and our main Venue the refurbished Village Hall. Many of the premises in town take on the identity of a film, decorating their premises accordingly.
We endeavor to screen each and every film submitted to our competition. It is difficult for filmmakers to reach large audiences and have their work appreciated. Our workshops attempt to provide very high quality hands on experiences for filmmakers and this year this element is our area of special focus. We are also fortunate to live in the most beautiful place in the world. When the sun shines there is no better place to be at any time.
The Festival Fringe Events
At the Fringe, we provide high quality activities for families with children, from Puppet Shows, Rod Puppet Making Workshops, Tee-shirt Painting, Children’s Cinema, Storytelling, Drama workshops, Cycle Cinema, children’s filmmaking workshops and much more for all ages Most of our children’s activities do not carry a cover charge.
