Casting of Iron Sky sequel is complete 491j18

NBC's crime drama Crossing Lines star Lara Rossi will play the lead role of "Obi" in the Finnish-German-Belgian science fiction comedy Iron Sky The Coming Race.
She's also performed notably on theater stage in London and Liverpool which have earned her nominations for the prestigious Ian Charleson Award. "Obi" in Iron Sky The Coming Race is the first lead role in a feature film for British actress Rossi.

The male lead role of "Sasha" is played by Vladimir Burlakov, a Russian-born actor well-known in German television, accompanied by Kit Dale as "Malcom". Dale is a former two-time World Pro Jiu Jitsu champion-turned-actor.

"'Obi' is the hard-headed and fiery daughter of 'Renate Richter', central figure of the original Iron Sky film. Obi's task is to keep alive whatever is left of mankind, now that her mother is obsessed with Apple-inspired cult called Jobsism", director Timo Vuorensola describes the Iron Sky sequel.

The cast also includes legendary actor Udo Kier (Ace Ventura, Dancer in the Dark, Nymphomaniac) in double-role as chief villains of the movie, Julia Dietze returning in her role as Renate Richter (1½ Knights, Bullet) and Canadian comedian Tom Green (Charlie's Angels, Roadtrip), who plays the leader of an Apple-inspired cult.

The shooting of Iron Sky the Coming Race will begin on October 19th at AED Studios in Antwerp, Belgium, with a budget of 17 million euros, making it the biggest live action movie in the history of Finnish filmmaking. Iron Sky the Coming Race is scheduled to be released in 2017.
